Day 1: Arrive to Lima.
Expect to take about 1 hour to pass immigrations and collect bags.
You then have a transfer at the time of your arrival and take you directly to the door of your hotel.
You have a hotel in Miraflores (50 minutes from the airport). Miraflores is a safe neighbourhood to go out and walk around day or night, as long as you take usual precautions as in any city. You will find many shops, banks, money changing bureaus, parks, cafes and restaurants and only a short 15 minute walk to the Pacific Ocean-front..
Overnight hotel – Hotel 3* Centro (Miraflores) – OR Del Pilar 4* (Miraflores) or 4* Holiday Inn at the airport if flight arrives late in the evening
Day 2: Flight to Cusco, transfer to hotel in Cusco.
Your flight to Cusco would be ideally in the late morning and lands after 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Someone will meet you with a sign upon arrival to Cusco. Then just a 20 minute drive to your hotel.
Standard choice - 3* Tika Wasi Boutique, (15 minutes walk to Cusco centre), elevated view of city. OR Luxury choice - RAMADA COSTA DEL SOL **** - 5 minutes to main Plaza.
Day 3: Morning tour of Cusco, afternoon free.
NOTE – if preferred, we can give you the city tour on the afternoon of previous day and leaving
you the entire day to see the city or do another tour.
WELCOME TO CUSCO – CAPTIAL CITY OF THE INKAS!
In the morning you will be met at the hotel by the local guide who will take you on a short walking tour if the city (2-3 hours). This depending on time will include visiting the main square and cathedral (not inside), the temple of Koricancha (entry included), typical streets such as Hatumrumiyoc, the neighbourhood of San Blas and maybe the local market of San Pedro if time allows.
The afternoon is kept free for options at extra costs, e.g: temple of Sacsayhuaman, cookery classes, Inka museum, museum of Pre-Colombian art museum, Cusco Planetarium. As well as many cafés, shops, restaurants and bars that offer almost any time of eating and drink.
Overnight as previous night – 3* or 4* accommodation in the historical centre.
Day 4: Travel to local community, visit animal rescue centre.
At 9am, you leave your Cusco hotel with your guide and drive to the Sacred to visit the animal rescue centre of Cochahuasi. Here, every animal has a story of how they came to the centre. We offer you a guided tour and a pre-paid donation as part of the entry fee.
We will then continue to our local community for lunch. Receiving a welcome from the hosts and lunch. In the afternoon we have time to get to know the agriculture and also textile/weaving womans cooperative that they have there as featured in the film "the last tourist".
Later, there is a chance to walk to the view-point before a traditional dinner.
Accommodation is rustic, but warmly. Private room with bed/bed-linen provided. OR CAN BE JUST A DAY VISIT AND FINISH AT A HOTEL IN PISAC
Hotel Pisac Inn 3*** (located on the main square, there are no 4 star options here so this is the best choice available.
Day 5: Horse riding, trekking at mountain lakes, farming demonstration
Cusco to Awanakancha center should only take 30 minutes. Then after some time there, just another 20 minutes to
the market town of Pisaq arriving around 9.30 or 10am, where you can visit the market and main village square.
Around 11am you will have a 1 hour horse ride session (no experience necessary) taking you around the outside of the town and to experience the trails along the river and nearby Eucalyptus forests.
After horse riding, we then drive around 45 minutes to Urubamba and take lunch before heading up to the Salt Terrace (1 hour uphill walk or 40 minutes by car)
The Salt Terraces of Maras are thousands of small plots of land where salt precipates naturally forming deposits all around, the salt is then taking and process to becoming what we have on our dinner tables in Cusco and elsewhere. Salt ornaments as well as bath-salts, spiced salts and salty chocolate are all for sale at the various shops located on-site. We trek up in around 40 minutes and some time to explore/take photos, then by around 3-3.30pm we have a car meet us there to drive us all the way to our next destination of the village of Chichubamba.
Note - If time and tiredness are an issue we can offer a taxi to go directly instead.
In the late afternoon we arrive to Nery’s house. Where she and her sister Monica run local workshops and community stays at the homes. This afternoon, we participate in a cacao/chocolate making workshop from a family who have worked the Cacao plantations for generations. Hear we get to peel, roast, taste and put into moulds the chocolate we can also try a hot chocolate drink.
We then continue to Ollantaytambo town and take the late afternoon train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village).
The train leaves at 4.35pm and arrives to Aguas Calientes station at around 6.15pm. Someone can meet you and take you a 5 minute walk to the hotel. A guide for the next day will meet you in reception and give you a short brief of instructions for the next day plans.
Then you have the evening free to choose from many restarants to eat.

Day 6: Visit to the Inca ruins, train back to Ollantaytambo/van to Cusco
Today is the day to visit the ruins of Machu Picchu!
We start after an early breakfast around 8am then leave to transfer to bus station, then the 25 minute bus-shuttle up
to the entrance for 9am.
We then proceed to the main citadel and the most important parts of this Inka city. Guide and entry included.
Our time-slot only allocates us a few hours to enjoy, but with an early start people will be getting hungry early too, so we can take the bus back down around 11.30am to get lunch in town and then board our train at 2.30pm to get as back to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley in 1.5 hours, then a 1.5 hour drive by road onto Cusco for a reasonable hour around 6 pm so time to eat out in the evening.

Day 7: Flight from Cusco to Lima to Iquitos, transfer to Treehouse Eco-lodge.
Expect to take the flight at 7.20am. You will need to be at the check in 2 hours before the departure. You will then have around a 1 hour and 15 minute flight to Lima and a stopover for 1.5 hours then at 10.25am your second flight to the Jungle city of Iquitos, from where you Eco-lodge adventure trip begins!
You will be meet upon arrival from one of the Treehouse lodge team and then transport 2.5 hours along the river to the lodge facilities, From there, they will give you a welcome drink and introduction. Any included activities will be determined by their program. Meals are all included.
Day 8/9: Treehouse Eco-lodge.

Day 9: Flight to Lima.
Your flight to Lima is at 7.55pm and arrive at 9.10pm
We can suggest an airport hotel for confort or hotel in Miraflores if your flight is a afternoon/evening departure the next day.
Day 10: Fly home (transfer to airport included if necessary)
